Holiday In PembrokeshireThe secret is well and truly out! Pembrokeshire is proving to be one of the most popular holiday destinations in the UK. So why do you ask yourself? Well, its like this, if you want the only coastal national park in the UK with incredible scenery, fantastic beaches, more activities than you can think of and accommodation and food to rival anything around that's just the start of it! Yes, Pembrokeshire is a haven of natural beauty that the regular "secret" holidaymaker that has been making their annual pilgrimage for the last 20 years had hoped no one else would find out. Each year they would return home and lie to their friends and neighbours as to where they been so no one would dare go there! Unfortunately, the secret is out and in a bigger way than you may believe. The beaches in Pembrokeshire are something to behold. Beautiful sands and breathtaking scenery follow an endless coastline. Tenby is probably the most popular town with super beaches, food and bars and pubs that refuse to let you go home. Further along the coast is Saundersfoot, a small village that has become the ultimate picture postcard holiday shot. Its fine pubs serving excellent food using local produce and the imposing and newly refurbished St.Brides hotel surveys all before it at the top of the cliff top. Further inland you come to the town of Narberth which is certainly now the antique capital of West Wales. This sheer gem of a town has a mixture of old and new without losing any of its charm and elegance. The proud Plas Hyfryd Hotel, the old lady of the town is the focal point for locals and visitors alike. These are but a few of the areas that West Wales has to offer. Towns like St.David's with its famous cathedral should also receive a visit and so many more this article may well go on for another ten pages but move on we must to another area that is so important, that of activities! Well, for the fit, healthy and brave of you out there you can start on the coastal walks. These are incredibly popular and attract an abundance of walkers to Pembrokeshire each year. The coastline is magnificent and the variety on offer is second to none. For those of you with children, you will never run out of ideas. Oakwood Theme stands as an icon to the investment and belief in the future of tourism in Pembrokeshire. The rides are truly superb (megaphobia, bounce & vertigo) and even the adults amongst you will be pushing your children aside to get on before them. For the younger children a day out at Folly Farm is as enjoyable as it gets. Meet friendly animals and get to bottle feed the young goats. The residents of Folly Farm are varied and numerous and a whole day is sometimes not enough. It also has its own fair with rides and machines that keep the children entertained. At Twr Y Felin the more adventurous of you can take up activities such as kayaking, coasteering, climbing and surfing. There is accommodation a restaurant and bar to serve you needs at the end of the day. Other activities that can be taken up in Pembrokeshire are, golf (some superb courses like Tenby), clay pigeon shooting, windsurfing, climbing, diving, jet boat trips, abseiling and when you really want to slow down visit some of the most historic old castles in the world. Considering Wales has more castles per square mile than anywhere else in the world, Pembrokeshire has its fair share. This is but the tip of the iceberg of what Pembrokeshire has to offer. So, if you decide to take my word for it I promise you won't look back!
