Bergen: A Pool of Attractions

Bergen expands into two regions, the old town that has abundance of ancestral properties in terms of art galleries, museums and other historical heritages of Bergen. These assets still keep the old Bergen, Norway alive. This city is located between the seven mountains and is a gateway to the fjords. Bergen Museum, Gamle Bergen Museum and Bryggens Museum grace the list of renowned museums in the city.

The eastern side features attractive Bryggen buildings which are in the list of UNESCO that contains the names of most valuable sites in the world. These are both historically and culturally important corners of Bergen city. Out of several interesting places, the harbor features a fish market which has got recognition for its colorful crowd and trading business. Fish market is of tourists’ interest because the shops keep different varieties of fishes alive in tanks so as to serve fresh stuff to the customers.

A Visit to the residence, now a museum, of famous composer Edvard Grieg and his wife, Troldhaugen, makes you aware of the rich artistic treasure. The Royal Residence (Gamlehaugen) is another historic castle with tremendous significance. Bergen aquarium is also a nice place to be familiar with some colorful aquatic animals. And if you are still left with load of energy, mountain climbing is a nice opportunity. Mount Ulriken is the highest Mountain in Bergen. Cable car ride to the top relaxes you to the max when you come across panoramic view during your ride. And talk will continue for hours if all the attractions of Bergen are discussed.
