Tours to serve Hanoi APEC delegates

Travel companies in Hanoi have been ready to open typical and attractive tours to serve delegates to the APEC summit in mid-November in Hanoi.

Apart from city tours and some tours to well-known landscapes near Hanoi, Hanoi Tourist Company will also open tours to Nhatrang - one of the 29 best bays in the world, Nha Rong Wharf in Ho Chi Minh City and Cu Chi Tunnel and organise a shopping tour at Ben Thanh market, a commercial hub of Ho Chi Minh City.

The Tuan Linh Travel Company is expected to organise 10 tours before and after the summit. Having arrived in Hanoi, the delegates can book one-day city tours to places of interest in Hanoi. The delegates will have a chance to learn about history, culture and art of Hanoi.

The delegates will travel to the ceramics village of Bat Trang, about 20 kilometres from Hanoi city centre, to view skilful hands of craftsmen making unique ceramics products.

The Tuan Linh Travel has also designed a special tour called "Cooking tour". Those who join the tour will be taken to several markets in Hanoi to buy food and after that, process dishes bearing flavour of Vietnam.

After the APEC summit, the delegates will be able to take two to five-day tours to well-known places such as Sapa, the city of fog in Laocai province; Halong Bay - the World Natural Heritage site, or the ancient town of Hoian - the World Cultural Heritage site.

Travel companies say that the delegates can book tours online or at hotels where they will stay. During free time, the delegates will be told about traditional dishes of Vietnam, including Thanh Tri steamed rolled rice pancake, West Lake shrimp cakes, La Vong fried fish or noodle soup served with beef or chicken.
