Durban - Beach babies paradiseDurban, or eThekwini in Zulu, is South Africa's second most populated city and is part of the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality. It is also the biggest metropolis in KwaZulu Natal and it is renowned for being the busiest port in Africa and the 9th busiest port in the world. Durban is a major tourist destination, mainly for their warm climate and lovely beaches, a perfect combination! The last time a census was taken in this city was in 2001, and it was recorded that there was a population of approximately 3.2 million individuals. The city also has a larger land area than many other South African cities, meaning that they have a lower population density, to be more specific; the number of individuals per squared meter is 1,460. Durban is known as Africa's most stunning seaside with fun and activities all year round. This city has had a unique charm about it from its early days already, when it was nothing like it is today. Durban has that extra bit that makes you want to go that extra mile to visit the city and experience the warmth of the Indian Ocean, the glowing golden sand and the exquisite greenery it has to offer. Durban Metro's creation signals tourists and foreigners to its paradise with another great feature, the add on to the priceless constituents to the always developing, non-stop praises of the history and appealing attractions it has to offer. The Zulu land joins east and west at Durban Metro and this is where it all happens. Everything from entertainment like warrior dancers and other traditional events to regal heritage and spiritualist fire performers, Durban is the place to be if you enjoy action and something to do every minute of the day. You won't be bored in a city like this; spend your day on the beach in the blazing sun, or walking the streets browsing at the interesting shops and returning greetings from friendly fellow pedestrians. Events within Durban are virtually endless, there's always something going on to keep you on your feet. Another aspect Durban is their involvement is sports. This is where many international matches have been held, and it's not surprising as Durban has venues that accommodate numerous kinds of sports, some of which are even played on the golden beaches. If it's not sport that you're into, there are golfing facilities that will keep you entertained for hours on end, or visiting the Casino and the Entertainment Kingdom will allow you to communicate, have fun and gamble! Durban is also home to two horseracing drawcards if you would rather bet on horses than cards, wheels and other games.
